Dawn

Thanks for posting. I never knew that about birthdays, but once you pointed it out it is pretty obvious. However, we will continue to celebrate birthdays, light candles, etc. Because it never occurred to me to be an "act of worship" I never treated it as such. I know I am not worshipping the person who is celebrating the birthday, and God knows it too.

We always allowed our kids to dress up for Halloween because, again, we never looked at it as evil. I loved dressing up for Halloween as a kid and going trick or treating and wanted my kids to have the same experience. They/we have been "condemned" by some "Christians" that we know. A "Christian youth leader" actually told my daughter she was selling her soul for a piece of candy! But my husband and I stand by our decision. Again, God knows what is in our hearts. Matthew 7:1
